Thai private sector to host ASEAN Business Awards 2019 for outstanding ASEAN enterprises with the potential to be Mr. Phairush Burapachaisri, Vice Chairman of The Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of the ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) 2019 Committee revealed that the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, and the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Banking (JSCCIB) which comprises the Board of Trade of Thailand, the Federation of Thai Industries, and the Thai Bankers’ Association, will host the ABA 2019 on Saturday, 2 November 2019 which is a part of the ASEAN Business & Investment Summit (ASEAN-BIS). This year, Thailand will host ASEAN-BIS 2019 during 2-3 November 2019, at IMPACT Exhibition Center, Muangthong Thani.lobal players at the end of this year.
The objectives of ABA 2019 are to recognize outstanding ASEAN enterprises in playing roles of building ASEAN economic growth and prosperity, and to promote the promising ASEAN small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have the potential of becoming global economic players, who are the important mechanism to empowering the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Therefore, the Most Admired ASEAN Enterprise Awards will be given to those outstanding and successful home-grown ASEAN companies and ASEAN SMEs. The awards of ABA 2019 will be divided into the Most Admired Awards (9 categories) and the Recognition Awards (2 categories), so there will be 11 categories in total, which are as following

1. 17 Priority Integration Sectors (Agri-Based, ICT, Aviation, Infrastructure, Automotive, Logistics, Electronics, Retail, Energy, Rubber-Based, Finance, Textiles, Fisheries, Tourism, Food & Beverage, Wood-Based, Healthcare)
2. SME Excellence (Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Employment, Growth, Innovation)
3. Family Business
4. Young Entrepreneur
5. Sustainable Social Enterprise
6. Green Enterprise
7. Startup and IDE (Innovation Driven Entrepreneur)
8. Skill Development
9. Women Entrepreneur
The Recognition Awards (2 categories)
10. Friend of ASEAN
11. Most Promising Digitalized MSME
The Most Admired Awards (9 categories) will be judged into 2 levels; Large Company and SMEs, which will be judged by the Panel of ABA Judges, comprised of 10 honorable representatives from each ASEAN countries. In 2019, Mr. Surapon Petch-vra, the Member of the Council of Khonkaen University, and former Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Santiago, Chile, is honored to be Thailand Judge.
The qualification of the Large Company should be an ASEAN-incorporated enterprise with at least 40% ASEAN-owned equity, preferably have operational presence in 2 or more ASEAN countries, be in operations for a minimum of 5 years, and preferably have 3 years of financial. Meanwhile, the SMEs should be an ASEAN-incorporated enterprise with at least 40% ASEAN-owned equity, preferably have business activities with ASEAN countries, be in operations for a minimum of 3 years, and preferably have 2 years of financial statements.
